The 12 year old in me feels the need to chuckle "Ha ha! FUDGE packers!" even though I know it's not that funny :p
There seem to be a lot of things that crop up, using the green and gold colour combination, which led to me to question the meaning behind it. The most confusing one for me is the colours of Slytherin house from Harry Potter-which I always thought was green and gold. However, it often pops up as green and silver. According to MuggleNet, the official Slytherin colours are green and silver while Gryffindors are gold and red. Perhaps I got the two confused. MuggleNet explains the colours for Slytherin "Would you be surprised to learn that green is a passive colour, associated with stability and tranquility?... ...Slytherin... is known for the bad traits of green. This is because green needs to feel powerful and safe... ...Greens are very envious (hence the phrase 'Green with envy'), distrustful, and concerned with money. These negative traits are usually associated with the darker shades of green, like that which is used by Slytherin house." (As for the silver, they explain that JK Rowling seems to have used the medal system. Gryffindor, which usually comes in first place at Hogwarts events, has gold. Slytherin, which is usually second, is silver. Ravenclaws colours are blue and bronze. Hufflepuff, yellow and black, is often ignored. The only notable Hufflepuff was Cedric Diggory, who dies at the end of Goblet of Fire.) Perhaps if Harry wasn't the hero of the series placed in Gryffindor house, Slytherin's colours might have been green and gold after all.
There IS gold in their crest
Australia's national colours are green and gold. Many believe its because of the Golden Wattle, which is prominent in their floral emblem.
The University of Colarado hosted a Green and Gold gala. On their remarks to the 2011 Green and Gold Gala, they explain the symbolism of the colours as such "Gold symbolizes wealth and wisdom. Green symbolizes life and youth. What a wonderful combination."
Manchester United also uses green and gold as their colours.
I discovered the University of Alberta has what they call a Green and Gold Soccer Academy, the Edmonton Eskimos use the same colours. Edmonton also has a Green and Gold Community Garden, which is a joint project between the School of Public Health and the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences. The Richmond Hill Phoenix Baseball Club hosted a Green and Gold tournament, while the London Junior Knights did a similar thing with their Green and Gold Invitational. Norwood-Norfolk County has an annual Green and Gold alumni hockey game. (These all seem to be Canadian, too!)
The Illuminati Mind Control Formula works on a colour-coded basis, which is said to have been founded by the UCLA. I've read and re-read the formula on Educate Yourself, and find it to be kinda confusing. I have the link in my sources and recommend you check it out for yourself. They explain gold as the colour of supreme leadership in the System, which includes the Grand Druid Council. "Green or Emerald Green: These cat alters recognize they have been abused. They still see themselves as belonging to the cult family, and deny that they have been abused to protect their cult family." "Dark Emerald Green: This colour is assigned to the Anti-Christ/Satan alters. Green is the occult colour for Satan and happens to be the most sacred colour. Few people outside of Satanists know that green is more sacred for them than any other colour." "Light Green: The god and goddess alters which are triads which function in Illuminati ceremonies get this colour coding."
Will Ferrel wears green and gold for most of Elf
Not much gold on these girls, but still.

The last two photos were taken from the Red Carpet Fashion Awards page. When I right-clicked to save, they were ALREADY titled "Green Goddess Trend"
