Nicki Minaj

I apologize if I'm jumping on a band-wagon

The lyrics sound to me like a brutal birth of Roman. Slim Shady was awful!

"I am not Jasmine, I'm Aladdin
So far ahead, these bums is laggin'
See me in that new thing, bums is gaggin'
I'm startin' to feel like a dungeon dragon
Raah, raah, like a dungeon dragon
I'm startin' to feel like a dungeon dragon"

Right away there's two major references: 1) A Disney-ized fairy tale. Roman tells us straight up he's not the princess, he's the guy with an adventerous spirit.

2) Feeling caged + Roman's identifying animal, being a dragon. He supposedly comes from Hell, which makes the dragon a perfect choice. Mortal Kombat (MK) chose the Chinese dragon. This part of the song is annoying at first. The more Roman says it (throughout the song), the more possessed he sounds.

"Look at my show footage, how these girls be spazzin'
So fuck I look like gettin' back to a has-been?
Yeah, I said it, has-been
Hang it up, flatscreen

(Haha) Plasma"

Girls go crazy wild at Nicki's shows. You'd think a female performer who dresses, dances, and acts provocatively would shed the focus on her male fans. Wouldn't guys go see her live? Yet its the spazzy girls that are showcased. Perhaps it wasn't Nicki's show at all. Why wouldn't Roman want to get a crowd of young girls even more hungry for him? He could probably have his way with any of those fans.

Next, he takes a jab at who sounds like Lil' Kim (given their public spat) and tells her to hang it up like a flatscreen. This is most likely to distract from who, and what, the song is really about.

"Hey Nicki, hey Nicki, asthma
I got the pumps, it ain't got medicine
I got bars, sentencin'
I'm a bad bitch, I'm a cunt
And I'll kick that hoe, punt"

The call-out to Nicki once again confirms this is Roman, who indicates Nicki's asthma isn't what it appears to be.
I wonder what the pumps are actually full of? Are these sentancing bars a reference to jail-time, a militaristic point-of-view, or whatever's in the asthma pumps? Or are the pumps in question just shoes?

A lovely Barbie-like pair of Louboutins

Not many women would call themselves a Capitol-UNT. Not many guys feel comfortable using the word...it is typically one used out of extreme anger. At least in Western society. Roman's mother is British, so I assume Roman's putting words in Nicki's mouth. He knows people still look at him as Nicki. He uses that.

"Forced trauma, blunt
You play the back, bitch, I'm in the front
You need a job, this ain't cuttin' it
Nicki Minaj is who you ain't fuckin' with"

MK alter egos are born out of forced trauma, Roman's being blunt about his situation. Nicki's in the back while Roman takes the lead. He seems to think she needs a real job because she can't deal with the rap game. People aren't "fucking with" Nicki; they're "fucking with" Roman. On the surface, Roman is still addressing Lil' Kim's comments about Nicki Minaj.

"You li'l brag a lot, I beat you with a pad-a-lock
I am a movie, camera block
You outta work, I know it's tough
But enough is enough"

Continuing to allude to the Lil' Kim war. More likely, Roman's talking to either Nicki or Shady. He could even be talking to a large portion of the world with the unemployment line.

"Raah, raah, like a dungeon dragon
Raah, raah, raah, like a dungeon dragon
Raah, raah, raah, like a dungeon dragon
Like a dungeon dragon, like a dungeon dragon

Raah, raah, raah, like a dungeon dragon
Raah, raah, raah, like a dungeon dragon
Raah, raah, raah, like a dungeon dragon
Like a dungeon dragon, like a dungeon dragon"

This is where he starts to sound other-worldly...yet it sticks with you. I can't get it out of my head! Ahh, but that was the intention.

[Slim Shady's part. DO NOT confuse him with Eminem or Marshal Mathers]

["I ain't into S&M, but my whip's off the chain
A little drop of candy paint drips off the frame
Twisted-ass mind, got a pretzel for a brain
An eraser for a head, fuckin' pencil for a frame
You don't like it then peel off, bitch"]

Reference to BDSM.
Candy is a recurring theme throughout Nikki's career, and a tool used in MK conditioning. Slim's mind is as twisted as a pretzel, and is easily wiped clean. If someone (Nicki in particular, or anybody in general-could go either way) doesn't like it, they can either leave, or  peel off into another person...or peel Slim Shady off into Eminem or Marshal Mathers.

["Every last woman on Earth I'll kill off, and I still wouldn't fuck you, slut
So wipe the smile on your grill off, I swear to God I'll piss a Happy Meal off
Get the wheels turnin', spin, and wheel off
Snap the axel in half, bust the tie-rod
Quit hollerin' "Why, God? " He ain't got shit to do with it"]
Ooh that last line is very telling! Do I even need to explain?
Shady thinks Nikki is a piece of shit and really hates her, from the sound of it. McDonald's is an environment reeking of conditioning. How many times have they used Hot Wheels, Barbie, Sanrio, and Disney products as Happy Meal toys? Love the vague Hot Wheels reference right after.

["Bygones'll never be bygones, so won't be finished swallowin'  my wad
I ain't finished blowin' it, nice bra
Hope it'll fit a tough titty, bitch"]

He's pissed at somebody and isn't gonna be finished "fucking with" 'em any time soon.

["Life's hard, I swear to God, life is a dumb blonde white broad
With fake tits and a bad dye job
Who just spit in my fuckin' face and called me a fuckin' tightwad
So finally I broke down and bought her an iPod
And caught her stealin' my music, so I tied her arms and legs to the bed
Set up the camera and pissed twice on her
Look, two pees and a tripod!"]

Aesthetically he's describing his on/off (I couldn't tell you their current status) wife Kim, or Barbie, veiling a "diss" to Lil' Kim, to whom Nicki Minaj pays homage. All three look like, or have an obsession with, Barbie. The awful act that follows is most likely how Roman was born.

["The moral to the story is, life's treatin' you like dry sod?
Kick it back in it's face, my God
It's Shady and Nicki Minaj, you might find the sight quite odd
But don't ask why, bitch (Ask why not)"]

He's telling us something. Be aggressive, B-E aggressive; kick life (and God) in the face. Also, don't question why SHADY and Nicki are working together.

["The wo-world is my punchin' bag and
If I'm garbage, you're a bunch of maggots
Make that face, go on, scrunch it up at me
Show me the target so I can lunge and attack it"]

Shady has major anger issues and thinks little of those he views as beneath him. He's sick of the slander and can think of a worse response than we can insult "IF I'm garbage THEN you're a bunch of maggots!" He's just waiting for the signal to attack...a code, a symbol, a target. Just give the sign.

["Like a, raah, raah, like a dungeon dragon
You fell off, off, they musta bumped your wagon
You musta went off the back, I'm 'bout to go off the deep end
I told you to stay in your lane, you just choked in traffic"]

Nicki had a proverbial fall, though not necessarily of her own accord. Sounds like Shady warned her and is annoyed with her.
[Nicki Minaj:]
(I-I-I-I-Is) Is this the thanks that I get for puttin' you bitches on?
Is it my fault that all of you bitches gone?
Shoulda sent a thank-you note, you little ho
Now I'm a wrap your coffin with a bow

On the surface Nicki's addressing Lil' Kim and other naysayers and figuratively killing them (in sales, in success, in fame, etc...)
Underneath, Roman's pissed that he's not getting proper respect and is out for blood.
(Ni-ni-ni) "Nicki, she's just mad 'cause you took the spot"
Word, that bitch mad 'cause I took the spot?
Well, bitch, if you ain't shittin', then get off the pot

The other alters (Roman's mother, most likely) are trying to calm Roman. Roman feels Nicki's jealousy isn't justified because she wasn't doing so well without him, otherwise he wouldn't be here.

Got some niggas out in Brooklyn that'll off your top
I-I-I-I hear them mumblin', I hear the cacklin'I got 'em scared, shook, panickin'
Overseas, church, Vatican

Roman's worrying the Vatican, eh? Odd, considering the Vatican's in with the Illuminati.

You at a stand, still, mannequin
You wanna sleep on me? Overnight?
I'm the motherfuckin' boss, overwrite

Nicki's a mannequin that was being used. Roman's taking control and not being pushed around.

And when I pull up, vroom, motorbike
Now all my niggas gettin' bucked, overbite
I see them dusty-ass Filas, Levi's
Raggedy-ass, holes in your knee-highs
I call the play, now do you see why?
These bitches callin' me Manning, Eli
(Manning, Eli!) Ma, ma-ma-ma-ma, Manning, Eli
These bitches callin' me (Manning, Eli)

It sounds to me as if Roman is flaunting his/Nicki's success in the face of all those who have wronged he and Nicki in any way. I'm not enough of a football (or any sport, for that matter) fan to understand the reverse Eli Manning comparision, even after looking him up. If somebody wants to explain the signifigance of him to me, that would be cool. Then again, this picture says enough.

[Slim Shady:]
["A-a-a-a-all you li'l faggots can suck it
No homo, but I'm a stick it to 'em like refrigerator magnets
And I'm crooked enough to make straitjackets bend"]

He loves homo-racist slurs all-the-while stating he's not gay "but..."
I've noticed this trend in other Shady lyrics in Eminem songs.
He admits to being corrupt.

["Yeah, look who's back again, bitch, keep actin' as if
You have the same passion that I have
Yeah, right, still hungry, my ass"]

Is he also joining the "Hate on Lil' Kim" parade? Is he talking to Eminem, who'd tried to leave the industry in an effort to stay sober and be there for his daughter? Or is he bitching out Nicki?

["You assdicks had gastric bypass
Ain't hot enough to set fire to dry grass
And 'bout as violent as hair on eyelids (Eyelash!)
Go take a flyin' leap of faith off a fuckin' balcony"]

Using religious faith as a weapon

["'Fore I shove a falcon wing up your fly ass
You know what time it is, so why ask?
When Shady and Nicki's worlds clash
It's (high class) meets (white trash)"]

Ah, so he's chewing out Nicki. It seems the media is obsessed with her rear. After all his verbal abuse it seems odd that he'd call Nicki "high class" and himself "white trash". "White rabbit", sure. After all, that was his character we followed in 8 Mile. No, I believe he's pinning her as Barbie, making her white. He was all but calling Nicki trash through-out the song. Yes, rap fans can argue "He called himself garbage just before calling us maggots. That makes him the white trash!" He didn't call himself garbage, he said "IF" first. Others have called him that. He was retaliating. Shady finds a way of putting himself above others. He wouldn't fuck Nicki so why would he call her high class?

["Raah, raah, like a dungeon dragon
Raah, raah, raah, like a dungeon dragon
Raah, raah, raah, like a dungeon dragon
Like a dungeon dragon, like a dungeon dragon

Raah, raah, raah, like a dungeon dragon
Raah, raah, raah, like a dungeon dragon
Raah, raah, raah, like a dungeon dragon
Like a dungeon dragon, like a dungeon dragon"]

Yup, sounding messed up again.

[Roman's British mother]
"Roman! Roman!
Stop it, stop it!
You've gone mad, mad, I tell you, mad!
You and this boy Slim Shady!
What's goin' on?"

Roman's mother knows something's not right since the influence of Slim Shady. All that dungeon dragon chanting must be an incantation of sorts.

"They'll lock you away!
They'll put you in a jail cell!
I promise!
Take your mother's warning, Roman
Pleaaaaaaase
Back to bed! Run along!
Let's go! Come on!
Wash your mouth out with soap, boys
(Boys, boys, boys, boys, boys, boys...)"

Roman's mother is trying to protect the boys and get them to behave. Roman and Shady aren't listening.

Shadow People (part one?)

I was going to do a post about The Princess and the Frog, then took the turn towards characters that work with/for Shadow People. When I began researching Shadow People (not for the first time) I quickly became creeped out and dropped it. The line "...then you find yourself face to face with one..." was what did it for me. I might look into that more when its not 2:16am.

I know there are more characters than this who interacts with shadows in one way or another, however they escape me at the moment.

As I said in a previous post, Disney has not been hiding it for some time yet it still slips by unnoticed by the masses. Pentegrams, the all seeing eye, skull and bones, just to name a few. Sure, he's the Voo-Doo "shadow man", and New Orleans is as famous for Voo-Doo as it is Mardi Gras. I wonder why Disney picked Voo-Doo and New Orleans rather than its typical mystery witches and warlocks...

Can people actually control, be controlled by, or be harmed by Shadow People? These characters lead me to believe so.

Fred Durst and Limp Bizkit

Funny how he looks so Triggered and you see the black and white stripes to the left.

At the height of their fame, Limp Bizkit and Korn went together like ICP and Twiztid, or peanut butter and jam. Fred and Jonathan Davis recorded a couple tracks with eachothers bands, and travelled together with Korn's Family Values Tour.

In the late 1990's Fred spoke publicly about wanting to "lick Christina Aguilera's butthole", even appearing in Eminem's "The Real Slim Shady" video "arguing" with Carson Daly over the blow-up doll representing Miss.A. In 2003 he had a brief, contreversial relationship with Britney Spears, one of the most infamous of the MKSlaves. She denies their relationship ever happened.  Miss Spears is also spoofed in Em's "Real Slim Shady" video.

Take his hand

Nothing up his sleeves...

In this video he is the patient who "loves" his handler, then switches places with her

In 2001 or '02 Wes Borland left the band, stating "...I feel my heart is going black, because this is not what I'm called to do. The little voice inside my head says 'You should be somewhere else. You should take the risk. You should let it go.' I think they'll be better now that I'm gone. I held them back from being their best because I was so against what they were doing."

Fred told reporters Wes had been listening to a lot of Radiohead for a while and had become very weird.

In 2004 Wes was back with Limp Bizkit, in full make-up and blacked out contacts. He's still with the band who is currently working on their Gold Cobra album. What happened to make him return to the band?
In 2007 Fred was arrested for hitting two girls with his car then leaving the scene. He made a plea bargain, serving 3 years probation, community service, paying a settlement, is/was not allowed within 100 yards of the victims, and surrendering all his guns.

In 2009 he spoke out against Obama, past presidents, and politics in general. "I just haven't voted for a president because I believe we still haven't found one...I could see myself having a very substantial point of view and contribution to helping politics get on the path of being less corrupt. It's so f*cking corrupt-it's out of control and it's anarchy."

Fred prides himself on being honest. He claims time and again that he's no liar (particularly about the Britney thing.) As a fellow Saggitarrius I know for most of us that honesty is one of our highest values; we tell things how we see them. Yet Miss Spears is also a Saggitarius. Again; we tell the truth as we see it. Maybe it was one of her alters dating him, or it was a simple case of "Oops! You think I'm in love, that I'm sent from above...I'm not that innocent."

I'm not sure what to make of Fred, or Wes. Are they products of MK conditioning? Fred seems too contemptuous of corruption to actually be a handler, despite the Behind Blue Eyes video. What do you think?

White and red dudes in gaming

Is there a signifigance to this that I am missing?

A lot of people have been noticing the look-alikes amongst game characters.

Quan Chi

Finding what the words Quan and Chi actually mean proves to be a difficult task. Quan is an East Asian surname, yet due to a combination of Jerry McGuire and slang in general, it has developed many meanings.
The most fitting for this powdery character seems to be "the ultimate; the almighty; the maximum overlord" Finding meaning for Chi was even worse, as he isn't like Tai Chi or Chai Tea. I suppose he has his own (dark) energy, and chi is a type of energy relative to feng shui.
As I'd suspected, Quan Chi is, in fact, a far greater threat than Shao Kahn. I wonder if this is where Mortal Kombat 10 will pick up.

His fatality (namely the first one) is beyond brutal simply because he does not stop!

Exploring Korn part 2: Jon Davis

Every fan of Korn or Jonathan Davis  is well aware that he was molested in his youth. Some say by his father though, according to Wikipedia, Jonathan said it was not his father, but a woman whom he would not identify. Either way, the damage was done.
In Korn's early days, Jon wore a lot of black and white Adidas suits with stripes running up the sleeves. If he looked at his arm when bent he would see horizontal stripes. He wore other colours (he would often be spotted in green, or black and red), however black and white was, and still is, his main theme.

Is it just me, or does his smile match that of his creepy tattoo?

Touch-ups and additions turned the tattoo into a sleeve of disturbing imagery

Strange symbol on his wrist-band

Ozzy Osbourne and Jon Davis strike mirrored poses

More black and white Adidas stripes, posing much like his famous mic stand

I'm not certain if this was fan-made or an actual promo. Either way, this speaks volumes

Red star/pentegram on hat, "Somebody Told Me" behind him, words carrying on his black and white theme

He's missing the whole one eye Jay-Z thing, but other than that...

With a zoned-out looking girl (I forget who), red Guess triangles behind, "Wonderland" written as Wonder Land, and once again carrying out his black and white theme with a JD shirt.

He's playing his hand to the bone in a dead forest at night. Wtf?

This one is most troubling. A crucifix to the right of the background, twin columns on the throne, looks like a checkerboard floor (but I think it's just "rubble" from the "destruction"), a serpent coiling around Jon and the infant held in a threatening grip, his hand on the head of the boy (his son?) who is bleeding from the mouth. Reminiscent of the "As above so below" pose of Baphomet. The middle window seems to act as an all-seeing eye, and the lightening is representing, I assume, a power transfer of some kind.

Some things never change

The pattern around him and on his shirt are pretty trippy. What is that a picture of, anyway? A white rabbit?

What's with the HIV?

Even in the pictures where he's smiling he looks unhappy, which is expressed through most of his music. Head's comment continues to ring through my mind:
"...'This is the rock'n'roll life!' But inside, I thought they took it too far. It was a little too crude for me."

What was too crude for him? What was taking it too far?

Project Monarch Fun and Games

I've come across some interestingly named things courtesy of Google. Links are in italics because, for some reason, no matter how often I edit and add underlines to the links, or change the links colour, it never seems to save properly. Italics show up so italics it is.

Literally "Fun and Games" according to them, featuring the "Bang Bang Gameshow"

Screenshots  of a PC game

Yacht   Designed by Jonathan Barnett
Not quite checkerboard or Alice, but still....

"Project Monarch Yacht is to be completed by Delta Marine with the support of Caterpillar's Financial Services Coorperation (Cat Financial)"
"Her interiors include... two king size suites, a queen size suite and a twin guest suite found on the central lower deck."
"'The interior for this yacht will be a great departure from any of my previous work.'"
"Powered by twin Cat 3512 B Series engines..."

There is even greater symbolism in the "Specifications of the Monarch" numbers, though I may have over-looked some so I reccommend you check it out yourself.

A for Alex my ass!

I was watching Weird Al's "Smells Like Nirvana" video when the Anarchy symbol on the cheerleaders reminded me of a scene from Wizards of Waverly Place. You don't even have to watch the clip to see what I mean.

The older dude in the scene makes a big deal like he doesn't know what it means. What person older than 20 doesn't recognize the Anarchy symbol? Selena's character claims its her initial inside a circle, "A for Alex."

Not much later on in the episode she designs a mural she calls "New York Above and Below".  She describes as "Above will be the pretty, happy New York that makes me want to barf, and Below will be the gritty, grimy New York filled with barf."

Toward the end of the episode, New York Above and Below is revealed. Above NY isn't overly interesting. Below NY features cut-off writing with the word TIMES visible, two shadow figures burning something between them under a street-light (the light casts a triangle over them), a skull, and, of course, the "A for Alex" right above the street-light.

In the theme song for the show, a spell book with nothing but a star on the cover flies toward the viewer as Selena and company sing "Everything is not what it seems..."

In other episodes, Alex dates a fellow by the name of Mason.

Exploring Korn part 1

First of all, I'd like to say that I do like Korn. It's because of this that I started noticing things while listening to them one day after reading MKCulture. It was these lyrics that caught my attention:

"Hate something...somewhere...Each day...feel'n ripped off for gett'n off
Why? This shit inside
Now everyone will follow
so...give...me...nothing...Just feel
and now a sheep will follow"

Is he hating the thing that's making him feel ripped off?
Getting off...There's probably a double meaning to this. Sexual satisfaction (or masturbation) being the obvious one, and money/success/fame/glamour being the other.
He seems to be venting a lot of anger, then mentions everybody following and referencing sheep. Hmm.

"God thanks me...the more I see the lie...Didn't want us to see
God told me...I already got the life...oh, I say"

"Each day I can feel it swallow
Inside something they took from me
I don't feel your deathly ways
Each day I feel so hollow
Inside always beating me
You will never see
So come dance with me..."

Clearly the song is about his unhappiness with the "joys" of success in the industry, yet there seems to be a lot more to it. Let's check out the music video for Got the Life.

Anyone familiar with the asian-esque (apologies if that's offensive; I don't know if that's Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or what, lettering. When I don't know, I say "asian-ese", or "asian-esque", to avoid calling someone/thing the wrong one. Sometimes a Korean-for example gets pretty dang upset if you call them Thai-for example. I am not being racist.) letters on the door at 0:53? If so, would you mind telling us what they mean?
I don't like to give much thought to things like star shapes in the shot. Yes, they have black stars in the background while they perform. Does that automatically mean we're looking at pentegrams? Sometimes people just like stars. However, given the rest of the video, they may very well be pentegrams.
At 1:13 one of the band members gives Jon a disapproving look when Jon asks to be given something he can feel.
A bunch of suits, a political looking broad, and a cowboy watch the band perform. They all shake hands and smile as if they're responsible for Korn. This pisses off the band, and Korn has left the building.
Jon goes to his car, which is swarmed by paparazzi, and seems to be half-praying/half-having-some-kind-of-attack. I can't help but notice his necklace. He exits the car, starts swinging a bat at the paparazzi, and strikes a pose like Jesus on the cross.
The remaining four members "story" kind of over-laps. Head and Fieldy give their car to a black squeegie man, who is over-joyed with their generosity. He speeds off, only for the car to explode. Munky and David Silveria observe the explosion. Then the band walks off together and is next seen at a party with a bunch of rappers.
WTF?! So they basically murdered a homeless black man then go off and party like it ain't no thang? Yeah Jon, I'm not feelin' those deathly ways.

                                           Other strange Korn videos

What do dead bodies have to do with this sex he's dreaming about all day?
Was he in women's underclothes strictly to be funny, or was he hinting at other hidden things? (No, I'm not calling him a transvestite or drag queen.)

Handlers keeping an eye on Korn, weird bug-like thing under their skin. The lyrics alone speak for themselves.

Angelina Jolie's in this video. There's also a lot of symbolism literally flying around.

Breaking mirrors, world crashing down around them, just to start

Featuring Lil Jon as Jon Davis, Xzibit as Fieldy, David Banner as David Silveria, and Snoop Dogg as Munky. David models for Sexy Beast Cologne...I doubt he modelled for this company! Regardless of anything, I still find this video to be amusing.

Disturbing album covers
The sheep will follow the girl in red right off the cliff

I believe this is the album cover that a fan designed. I remember Korn held a contest while at the top of their game, and it was for a fan to design the cover of their (then) next album. I'm pretty certain this was the winner, or at least one of them. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Woah! WTF?

Lyrics from Korn's first single, Blind:

"This place inside my mind
A place I'd like to hide
You don't know the chances
What if I should die?

A place inside my brain
another kind of pain
You don't know the chances
I'm so blind!"

"...deeper inside, wanting to live a life that seems to be
A lost reality, that I can never find
A way to reach my inner self, I stand alone
How deep can I go, in the ground that I lay?
If I don't find a way to see through the gray that clouds my mind
This time I look to see what's between the lines..."

In 2005, Brian "Head" Welch left Korn and found Christianity. In an interview with MTV News he made some interesting comments:

"I love everybody in the band — I was afraid to leave. It made me sad to think that I would be hurting the band if I left. For the last year and a half, I wanted to leave, but someone would always talk to me and convince me to stay," Welch said. "But I've had a problem with the way things were going since the second record. I mean, we would do things, and I would be like, 'Oh, this is metal! This is the rock and roll life!' But inside, I thought they took it too far. It was a little too crude for me."

"I think it made the guys mad. It confused them. I left at the worst possible time. We got off Sony, and all the money was there, we were going to own all of our songs, but I had to prove to myself that money wasn't my God," he said. "I talked to Jonathan [Davis] and he said, 'I don't get it, man, you're all happy and we're sitting here grieving because our band is breaking up. And I wanted to tell him, 'Well, for years, you guys were out partying while I was sitting on the tour bus wanting to die.' "

In retaliation to Head's leaving and newfound Christianity, this t-shirt was released.
